Mission

At the Edo State Broadcasting Service, our mission is clear: to regulate, promote, and facilitate the development of broadcasting services in a manner that upholds the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and public interest. We strive to ensure that broadcasting in our jurisdiction remains a powerful medium for informing, educating, and entertaining our diverse audience.

Our Functions

Granting licenses to broadcasters and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.

 Regulating content to uphold legal and ethical standards, safeguarding against harmful or offensive material.

Setting technical standards to ensure the quality and reliability of broadcasting services.

Managing spectrum allocation and promoting efficient use of broadcasting resources.

Protecting consumer interests and promoting fair competition in the broadcasting market.

Enforcing regulations through monitoring, investigation, and appropriate sanctions.

Broadcasting operations

The General Manager leads the organization, overseeing various departments including Administration, Engineering, News & Current Affairs (for both TV and Radio), Programs, Commercial Services, Presentation, EBS Enterprises, Corporate Affairs, Finance, and Training & Manpower Development.

Frequency

EBS operates two main frequencies: radio broadcasts on 75.7KHz frequency modulation and television broadcasts on channel 55 at 743.25 MHz.
